I am new to the world of PAAB and I am wondering what the code allows in terms of non-product branded advertising on social media, targeted to HCPs. For example, videos of HCPs speaking about a disease and how it's important to treat/vaccinate against, without mention of a specific drug, being shared as sponsored ads on Facebook.

The posting of content to social media like Facebook, would fall under the regulations for direct to consumer advertising. In order to determine if content would be considered acceptable, please refer to the Health Canada "Distinction Between Advertising and Other Activities" document and the Food and Drugs Act, which prohibits the advertising of any drug to the general public as a treatment, preventive or cure for serious diseases (Schedule A diseases) and prohibits the advertising of prescription only medicines.
